NanoSpot utilizes a unique agglutination-based approach combined with an artificial intelligence driven mobile application to enable next generation diagnostics to be deployed in a wide variety of settings. firmly believes that our novel platform will have a significant human impact in delivering accessible diagnostics to the world.

You’ll be joining at an exciting stage as we look to commercialize our core SARS-CoV-2 Total Antibody Test in the coming months. You will be a key contributing asset to the company and as such will have an opportunity to take a major step in your career with direct access to all levels of the company. At this exciting stage of the company, we are looking for an innovative and motivated biochemist, molecular biologist, or bioengineer with an interest in protein biochemistry and test development.

The Role

You’ll be joining as the second full-time hire and as such will have a wide range of responsibilities. There will be opportunities to contribute across all areas of the business, but core responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Lead research and development efforts by contributing to the foundational research to develop tests for new products.
  • Interface with scientist co-founders to drive new product development
  • Design, clone, and synthesize proteins for diagnostic tests
  • Design, execute, and independently analyze results of experiments, protocols, and procedures to validate the performance of tests
  • Communicate results through written reports and regular data presentations
  • Contribute to the operations of the company by helping to manage the reagents and consumables supply chain
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities through trade shows
  • Contribute to quality and regulatory compliance for medical diagnostic products.


  • MD or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Bioengineering, or related field with 3-6 years of experience in an academic or industry lab
  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality publications
  • Hands-on experience with ‘state of the art’ molecular biology techniques, including cloning, protein expression and purification, gel electrophoresis and mammalian cell culture
  • Experience in designing, executing, and analyzing experiments, interpreting results and identifying problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply molecular biology and/or biochemical techniques.

  • Demonstrated understanding of GMP, ISO, and Quality Systems preferred

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Experience in medical device/IVD, biotech, life science, or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
